Investment Management
Managing your investments can be a full-time job in and of itself. And if you feel you don't have the expertise or just don't have the time or inclination, we're here to help.
Whether it's rolling over an old 401(k) that you're not going to touch for another 25 years or building up a brokerage investment account with regular monthly contributions, our investment management expertise does two things for you:
1) Peace of mind. It ensures your money is working as hard for you as you worked for it. "Gee, I'm glad I'm getting 0.1% interest from my bank account!" said nobody, ever.
2) Something people have said: "Time is money". So let us spend our time and energy watching over your investments and let you spend more time doing what makes you happy. Not to put too fine a point on it, but the below pictures are from an actual exchange with a client. Guess which one came from the client:

Now, you don't have to like cigars or the beach, but there's probably something you'd rather be doing than sorting through fixed income offerings, no?
Investment Management Process
We build discretionary portfolios primarily using Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and take an active approach to the management of those portfolios.
We don't believe you're paying us to assign you an arbitrary risk number based on a handful of multiple choice questions and then invest your portfolio in a static 60/40 or 75/25 or 40/60 allocation based on that number. You are more than a number, and your portfolio should be, too.
We do believe buy-and-hold investing can help eliminate the worst of the behavioral mistakes people tend to make when investing, but is only a sound long-term strategy if your initial buying price (value) is associated with favorable long-term returns. Given current market levels, we don't see a high probability of favorable long-term returns and therefore can't in good conscience recommend a buy-and-hold strategy for time horizons less than 10 years.
That is why we take a more active approach to portfolio management. For more detail into our portfolio management strategy, check out our ADV Part 2.
